John Brennan, FCRH ’77, the former director of the Central Intelligence Agency under President Barak Obama, came to Fordham Law on Jan. 30 to discuss the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani with Karen Greenberg, director of the Center on National Security, and Ken Dilanian, correspondent for NBC News.
Brennan, a distinguished fellow on global security at the center, acknowledged that Soleimani was a “principle nemesis” of his while he was director of the CIA and that the general represented a threat to U.S. security, but he did not see a legal basis for the strike.
