“Why the Acquittal of Noor Salman May Be a Turning Point in the ‘War on Terror’”


In a recent article written for The Nation, Karen Greenberg, the Director of CNS, notes that an “acquittal in a terrorism case is not considered a failure of the criminal-justice system.” Noor Salman, the widow of the Pulse nightclub gunman, was acquitted of aiding and abetting her husband’s material support for ISIS, and obstruction of justice. Legal experts and pundits agree that Noor Salman’s case produced the correct verdict as the truth proved transparent.
